Intervet Schering-Plough announces PreveNile® West Nile Virus vaccine recall

Intervet Schering-Plough has announced an urgent recall of all serial numbers of PreveNile® West Nile Virus vaccine for horses due to an increased number of adverse event reports associated with the use of these vaccines. According to a letter distributed by the manufacturer, the USDA has been alerted of this recall.

Merit Award Program

Register your Gypsy today for the 2010 Merit Award Program (MAP)!

The Merit Award Program is open to GHRA registered horses owned by current GHRA members in good standing. Current program runs from Jan 1, 2010 to Dec 31, 2010. Points may be earned at any show or event regardless of Society. Only actual placing will count towards Merit Award totals, special awards are not eligible. All results will be verified, any falsified results will result in disqualification and entry fee will be forfeited. The Merit Award Ceremony & Social Evening takes place during Annual Meeting.

During the vesicular stomatitis (VS) outbreak:

If you plan to haul Texas equine animals to New Mexico, be sure the certificate of veterinary inspection is issued within seven days prior to arrival in that state.  New Mexico updated their vesicular stomatitis requirements Tuesday, June 30.   (When Texas is free of vesicular stomatitis, certificates of veterinary inspection will again be valid for 30 days for Texas equine animals entering New Mexico.)
